Web Directory Submission: Another hit in SEO

dess

One of the effective strategies in SEO or otherwise known as Search Engine Optimization is submitting to Web Directories. A friend asked me, how am I going to start submitting to these directories? And where am I going to look for it? A SEO enthusiast can start first in choosing good quality directories. It can be a good start. Of course, you can look for these directories in Google, and Yahoo. Two of the top Web Directories I know are DMOZ and BOTW. There is also another business web directory which is also good, it’s Bussiness.com.

After searching for SEO friendly web directory the next step is to start submitting your blog or website to them. But wait! Before you submit make sure that your site is live and no errors in the pages. And also before submitting, you may try to list down all the details a directory might need from you such as Link, and Description of your site or blog. I suggest that you don’t go for a reciprocal linking. There are web directories that require reciprocal linking. In SEO, two or three way linking is bad. Go for one way linking. Good practice makes good business! :)

If things are ready you may now start submitting. But make sure to have a file wherein you have all the list of web directories. Tip: “Don’t forget to back up files”. Upon submission, be sure to select the relevant category to your blog. Relevant topics and relevant keywords can attract search engines especially Google and Yahoo.

In SEO, you don’t have to be expert you just have to be patient and hard working. Trends in technology nowadays, there a lot of ways and strategies to be on top of search engines, but always put in mind that whether you use black hat SEO strategy it will always safer to use good SEO practice. Web Directory submission is one of the good practice. You only have to be patient and eager to submit your blog or website to these directories. Good luck in your SEO career! :)

Squidoo: Next Big thing in SEO

dess

Internet Marketers or SEO Specialists had been using this powerful tool to rank their websites in search engines. What is Squidoo? It is a website where you can create lenses. Others use this for monetizing purposes, and some are for marketing strategy. People who create lenses are often times called “lensmasters”.
How can Squidoo be a part of SEO strategy? Well, in squidoo you can place the link of your website on your lenses. And you can write a snippet of your article and link it in your site. The advantage of using Squidoo is that, it is approved and recognized by search engines, specifically Google. The only way to be known in Squidoo, your lens must be really unique, provides helpful information to people, and it has fresh contents.Find lenses that are relevant to yours, and give out a useful comment, you may insert a link of your lens/website on the comment field. Just make sure that it is not sound like spammy. If your lens got the highest rank for a certain topic, I bet your website is also rank in Google. Gain more visits, and let other lens masters rate your lens. The good news about Squidoo is that, it pays you off. But they will only pay you if you’ve got a higher rank, bunch of visits from other lens masters, and most importantly your lens is informative and useful.

Terms and Definitions to help you understand more on this topic:

Lense – A mini website or a page that contains a person’s thoughts, ideas and topics.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) What is it?

dess

Some people might wonder, what is SEO? What does it do for many websites? Why is it an advantage for bloggers, entrepreneurs, advertisers, marketers and website owners? SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a process of giving out quality “traffic” (more visitors) to websites that came from several search engines (e.g Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves). SEO Specialists/Internet Marketers use a group of competitive keywords (e.g health, relationships, and politics) to optimize their websites. Some people use this as a marketing strategy that’s why business owners prefer to sell their products online.
Now, how does it really be beneficial to business owners? If you have your own business, and you want the world to know how good your products/services are, you probably think of designing a website and publish it in the World Wide Web. The question is how are you going to get a lot of visitors on your site? SEO can help you gain visitors! And of course gain customers. Isn’t it great? You just have to know how are you going to optimize your site through keywords, and make your website rank on search engines.
