Smoke in the City

dess

Boyfie and I are in the car watching the Tamaraw FX bursting out it’s killer smoke! I can’t imagine how it can slowly destroy Mother Nature…it’s so pathetic that there are still some people who do not exercise Environmental awareness. geeeeeeeee

Dropping off weight

dess

Dropping off weight is really hard most especially if you’re a busy bee like me. The last time I remember my weight was 60 kilos and I think I gained more today. I have tried lots of slimming pills, diet, etc and I still end up nothing. No calories lost and the curve in my body is running away!

Two months ago I have tried the Nestle Fitnesse Cereals 14 Day challenge and yet nothing happened. I realized that determination is the most important thing to keep in mind. I had to get rid of that bulges! After a huge disappointment I have come up a decision that I will have to plan a workout but this time with the willpower.

Misadventures in Baguio

dess

Last February 25th, boyfie and I celebrated our 2 year and 6 month (sary). Since it’s his off set he planned to visit me in the office and we had lunch together. While eating, I have mentioned to him that Leah will be out for Baguio on weekend because she’s going to celebrate the Panagbenga Festival. And since we both love to go there boyfie said we’re going to Baguio too together with his friend and cousin. I was hesitant at first because I’m thinking of so many things like money, clothes and the place where we’re going to stay. At that day, I don’t have any bucks left in my wallet except the fifty cents in my purse. Plus I don’t have extra under garments and other hygiene stuffs like feminine wash, shampoo etc. It’s a misadventure really. Well I remember when boyfie and I went to Subic for an out of town celebration of my birthday. It’s also an adventure but I was prepared on that trip. Okay back to the main story, after we had lunch I go back in the office and searched for a direction and a map going to Baguio. Traveling in that place is really hard most especially if you’re a newbie.

Here’s the direction I got from the blog “Backpackingphilippines“:

At around 4PM, I was able to log out in the office. Boyfie and his friend were waiting for me downstairs so I have to hurry up and decide if we will push through or not. I called my mom to ask if it’s okay for her that we will go to Baguio (unexpectedly). And after some talks she finally said okay so the unexpected trip will be pushed through. Since boyfie had to bring his cousin and his family we have waited for his wife until 11PM. So there we have packed some stuff for our trip and yes we’re ready for a long hour road trip. We left Manila at around 11:30 PM and we arrive at Baguio around 5 AM. We drove 6 hours because the place is too far and the roads are not good. We were like in a puzzle that we have to go through the blind curves of the mountain that if you’re not a good driver you will be lost out of nowhere. Well good thing boyfie is a good driver. LOL The time we arrived at Marcos Highway the temperature is getting low. We were all chilling because it’s too cold. For me it’s a good thing because I love cold weather.

Stages of Relationship (In my own perspective)

dess

First Stage: This phase is called the “Courting” stage. When a boy likes girl then he would do things that would attract the girl’s attention like sending sweet text messages or emails, or giving her flowers or chocolates. In other words, he’s being pathetically romantic. Boy promises a lot. So when girl finally likes boy and she already loves him then they’re stepping in to Stage two.

Second Stage: They already build a relationship and during the first few months or weeks of relationship the love birds hopelessly devoted to each other. They’re spending a lot of time together, exchange of warm hugs and sweet kisses. The three words “I love you” are often used.

Nestle Fitnesse Challenge: Day 3 and 4

dess

Too bad I skipped to write about Day 3. :( . Well nothing much on Day 3 I conquered the challenge which is “Temptation” (again). The luscious chocolates in front of me were very tempting and yet I was able to control my self eating those mouth watering stuffs. My team mates and I go to Market Market to buy something for our upcoming team building and yes I’m starved that day so I think I ate a lot during lunch.
Here’s my meal plan for Day:

Breakfast: Fitnesse Cereals + Milk + Cup of coffee
Lunch: Noodles + Rice + Gilled Fish stuffed with tomatoes
Dinner: Fitnesse Cereals + Milk Continue reading

Suggest a better Salon

dess

If you are following my posts you will remember the topic about my Plans for 2011. I have mentioned that this year I will have a new look (new hair, new style etc). Well, that was partially achieved. Last January 07, 2011 I got my hair rebonded in Victor Ortega but I did not succeed with the hair cut. They said a fringe bangs is not possible since the hair is so stiff. OMG! So when you see me now it looks like nothing changes. Same hairstyle the only difference is that my hair is now straighter than the last time.

So readers if you know a better salon, can you suggest one? hair salon business cards or any means of contacting them. Please please give me reviews bad and good comments so I can weigh things. Continue reading

Nestle Fitnesse Challenge: Day 2

dess

Okay so Day 2 has ended and I think the challenge is “Temptation”. Well for breakfast I ate normal cereals again with milk but no fruits (still). Hmmm..for lunch..since Jan and I are going to talk about other matters (about life insurance) we had our lunch at Hap Chan. And I’m allowed to take a normal meal (for lunch only) we ordered sweet and sour fish fillet, then dumplings (shrimp siomai to be exact) and a half rice.

In the afternoon, since it’s Tessa’s birthday. We prepared a surprise party for her. We ordered Cake, “Pichi pichi”, and Spaghetti. So here comes the enticement.. Of course since I’m invited and Tessa is a good friend of mine I was there at the party. Staring at the food and making my eyes really full (not my stomach though). God it’s killing me! Leah was also there but she prefers to go after the singing and greetings. And me? Well, I stayed and have chitchats with my friends but I chose not to eat! Huh! Yeah, I won!

So for dinner, as usual I ate the cereals with milk but no fruits or yoghurt. Still have to work on the fruits since I’m not used to eat it.

Day 2 has been very tempting since a lot of sumptuous (not so healthy) foods in front of me and yet I defeat it. My determination is much higher than temptation.

I just want to share the unhealthy part is where I lighted 3 cigarettes (but not at the same time) in one day. Too bad I still can’t quit smoking.

Will you take up Nursing?

dess

Why do you think “Nursing” is the hottest course in most of the Universities and Colleges today? It’s been part of the Philippine culture that people have to go abroad to earn dollars in order to surpass the challenge of poverty. Well, being able to graduate and become a registered Nurse can be your ticket to fly overseas and earn high salary. Most of the people I know are taking Nursing and if they’re going to be asked the answer is mainly to go abroad. How much do you think are the salary of a normal nurse outside Philippines? How many nursing graduates that are already working? And how much exactly can you spend for taking the course? Yes, I know that when you’re already working outside the country all of your expenditures will be paid off. But the main question here is, do you really afford it? I mean the expenditures during college.

The mere fact that Nurses are in demand in other countries, some parents force their daughter/son to take the course even though they can’t afford it. Well, I’m not a nursing graduate or a person who wears medical uniforms but I know the expenses. For example, the nurse uniforms and supplies those universities require to their students. There are cheap uniform or cheap uniforms but how about other things that they are using in laboratories, the books, etc. And after graduating, still have to pay for a review in preparation for the board exams. We all know that diploma is useless if you’re not a board passer. You can’t work in hospitals if you’re not a registered nurse.

I just don’t understand the reason why graduating students (high school students to be exact) take this course. Is it by choice? Hmmmm…. Practicality wise, there are other courses offered like Accountancy, Information Technology, Psychology, and Physical Therapists. These courses are also in demand abroad so maybe it can be an option.

No Regrets (I think)

dess

With all the pain and qualms I’m going through these days I realize one thing. I should not worry about putting so much effort in our relationship like sending him “sweet” graphical quotes or even surprising him on our Anniversary. Why? Because it’s one way of reminding him that I still “exist” (That Hey! I’m your girlfriend).

Well maybe there are times that he might forget the sweet moments we had, so giving these kinds of efforts have nothing to worry about. And if time comes that he can find somebody else (knock on the wood) I won’t have regrets. At least I have given him all that I have. Love, Care, Understanding, Everything! Continue reading

Nestle Fitnesse Challenge: Day 1

dess

After seeing the commercial of Nestle Fitnesse Cereals on tv I wonder if it really works. My mom says why don’t I try the product? Maybe it could help me lose some weight. Well admittedly I’m hesitant at first because I have tried a lot of slimming tea, pills, and other stuffs and it all didn’t worked. If it works something’s going on with my body like vomiting, sweating, etc.

So, to gain more motivation, I have shared this plan to my Leah and she also want to try it. We have decided that we will start this challenge on January 17, 2011 (Yesterday). So I bought three boxes with three different varieties, one is the original whole cereals, and the other one is the fitnesse cereals with fruits and lastly the one with almonds.

For breakfast: Nestle Fitnesse Cereals + Milk + cup of coffee
For lunch: Normal meal (Half rice + kare kare (vegetable) + chicken)
For dinner: Nestle Fitnesse Cereals (with fruits) + Milk

I haven’t bought fruits yet so I’m planning to buy banana later at 711.

Well, the challenge on Day 1 is that I have to control my self for craving other foods.
Honestly, the taste is quite good at first but when you try to continuously eat the cereals with the milk you’ll be unhappy with what you’re doing. I know that its part of dieting and it needs a lot of determination and patience.

So, Day 1 already started and I have over come the challenge which is “Cravings”. We’ll see in a couple of days if it’s really going to work.

(Pictures coming soon)
